Individual psychotherapy

Therapy for people who are used to being the capable one.

Private online psychotherapy for adults who function well, deliver reliably, and are quietly dealing with something that is not resolving itself.

What this work is

Independence is a strength until it isn't.

If you are the person other people bring problems to, asking for help is rarely neutral. It can feel like a category error — as though you have arrived in the wrong room, or as though whatever you're dealing with should have been manageable.

It usually isn't a lack of insight that brings people here. Many of my clients can describe their own patterns with considerable accuracy and still find themselves repeating them. Understanding is not the same as change, and analysing yourself privately is not the same as being properly heard.

We work at a serious pace. I will ask direct questions, follow the contradictions and look at what may be blocking you from getting where you say you want to be. Often that means identifying beliefs and assumptions operating outside immediate awareness — and working out what you may need to let go of in order to move forward.

What people bring

Some of the ground this covers.

Relationships

How you attach, withdraw, choose partners, and what keeps repeating.

Needs and emotions

Naming what you actually feel and want, often for the first time.

Anxiety

Including the kind that never shows on the outside.

Depression

Flatness, exhaustion, and losing interest in things that used to matter.

Identity

Who you are when the roles and responsibilities are set aside.

Meaning

Purpose, direction, and what the next twenty years are for.

Existential questions

Mortality, freedom, regret, and the choices already made.

Self-esteem

The private appraisal that no achievement seems to revise.

Life transitions

Career change, separation, bereavement, relocation, parenthood.

Difficult decisions

The ones you keep circling rather than making.

Recurring patterns

Behaviour you can predict in yourself and still can't interrupt.

Pressure and responsibility

Carrying an organisation, a family, or both.

Loneliness

Being surrounded by people and known by very few of them.

Success without fulfilment

Having built the thing and feeling nothing much about it.

Sexuality

Desire, orientation, function, shame and curiosity.

Personal growth

Deliberate work on how you operate, not a crisis response.
